You've probably already heard of the well-known Space Cake. As you read this article, you'll notice that it comes in many different shapes and types. I'm going to give you all the important information you need to know before making and tasting this delicious product.
What is a Space Cake?
Simply put, Space Cakes are cannabis-infused foods. Take a trip to Amsterdam, for example, and you'll be able to sample different kinds of cookies, cookies and other pastries, all enhanced with cannabis thanks to a sophisticated process. There are even drinks and sweets created for the same purpose.
In France, these products respect the legal THC content and are therefore more CBD-oriented. In any case, this is still a good opportunity to enjoy the effects of CBD, while indulging in a delicious sweet treat.
Most of the time, the preparation process involves the creation of what's known as Marrakech butter. Based on hashish or cannabis flower, the product is created by infusing it in butter. This allows the molecules to be incorporated evenly and efficiently into the preparation, resulting in a delicious Space Cake.
Eating cannabinoids: what's the difference?
You may not know it, but the way you consume your cannabis can significantly change the effects cannabis can have on your body. In this case, ingesting Space Cake will have a completely different effect to consuming it by inhalation or vaporization. And I can tell you in advance that the effect will be all the more powerful!
Why this difference?
The answer has a lot to do with tetrahydrocannabinol (otherwise known as THC), but also with your liver. Your liver converts THC into 11-hydroxy-THC. This is the metabolite formed when your body ingests cannabis. Except that by passing through your liver, 11-hydroxy-THC takes much longer to reach your brain than if you had smoked or vaporized it.
This explains why it takes longer for the effects of cannabis to kick in, but they're all the more powerful because they happen all at once. As a general rule, it takes between 30 minutes and 2 hours to feel the effects.
Don't forget that THC is a psychotropic drug, so it's best not to abuse it. With other cannabinoids such as CBD, you can also benefit from the many known effects of this type of product.
The importance of dosage in a Space Cake
Making Space Cakes is a tricky business. The main problem is getting the dosage right.
Space Cake is a product where overdosing can happen very quickly. It can give you an unbearable high, anxiety, paranoia, and sometimes even an unbearable bad trip. Bear in mind that the effects of Space Cake can last from 1 to 4 hours, so you might as well make the most of it!
It is considered that 10 mg THC would represent a typical dose for one person. If your cannabis has a THC content of 10%, you'll need just one gram of weed to create 10 cookies. Of course, the effects vary according to morphology, age, etc.
A final word of advice: don't neglect decarboxylation. This process not only activates all the THC and cannabinoid molecules, but also eliminates the carboxylic acid. It simply involves heating your cannabis flowers, thus avoiding unstable and unreliable effects.
How are CBD Space Cakes prepared?
Incorporating CBD into the cakes and pastries you want to bake must necessarily involve creating a CBD version of Marrakech butter. Obviously, from a legal point of view, this is all you're allowed to do in France. For a THC Space Cake, you'll have to go to countries where its consumption is legal.

So I'm going to give you a recipe to create a CBD butter that you can incorporate into all your recipes requiring the use of butter. Bear in mind that CBD may cook at over 180°, so bear this in mind when choosing your recipe!
- Start by putting 250 g of butter in 250 ml of water in a saucepan, adding 20 ml of the best CBD oil (which is about 1.5 tablespoons).
- Heat for 2 hours over low heat.
- Allow to cool before stirring and pouring into a suitable container.
- Leave the butter to harden in the fridge.
Your butter is ready! Now you can use it for your carefully chosen recipe.
Legal point and precautions to take before eating a Space Cake
Whatever country you're in, always check the local cannabis legislation before thinking of consuming THC or Space Cake. As you know, in France it's illegal to consume cannabis with a normal THC content. Which means that eating a classic Space Cake is too.
It's also very important to think about responsible consumption when it comes to Space Cake. Here are a few precautions to bear in mind:
- If it's your first time, take a small dose first. You can reassess your need next time.
- Always wait until you feel the effects before taking more. Waiting times vary, and you run the risk of inflicting a rather unmanageable double effect.
Always eat something before consuming a Space Cake. Once again, this will help you avoid undesirably powerful effects.
