Among the variety of CBD products, triple-filtered resin stands out. If you're wondering what makes this product so special, you've come to the right place. I'll give you all the information you need!
What is 3x filtered hash?
The 3x filtered resin is quite popular. This is simply because it is highly concentrated, giving it a rather interesting taste and effect. You may also find this resin under other names such as “hash” or “shit” in everyday jargon.
There are several traditional methods for making the best CBD hash, which has naturally led to the emergence of different types of resin over the years.
However, the most successful is often 3x filtered resin. Its popularity is based on its exceptional purity, achieved through a three-stage manufacturing process.
When you consume it, you'll surely notice that its taste is more pronounced than that of a classic cannabis flower. This intensity of taste, combined with its concentrated effects, goes a long way to explaining its appeal to CBD enthusiasts.
The 3x filtered hash manufacturing process
Hash is distinguished by its high cannabidiol concentration and meticulous manufacturing process, making it a highly sought-after product. But why so much attention to detail? Quite simply to ensure optimum effects and quality.
The triple filtration method has its origins in an ancient tradition, passed down from generation to generation like many resin-making techniques. Of the various methods available, triple filtration is widely recognized as the most authentic and natural.
Let's explore the manufacturing process together:
- The first step is of the utmost importance: you need a substantial quantity of CBD flowers – around 20 kg to produce just 1 kg of resin. This is why we carefully select the most beautiful CBD flowers, keeping only the most precious trichomes.
- Then comes the sieving stage, repeated three times with increasingly fine filters. Today, this operation can be facilitated by the use of special machines such as the Pollinator or bubble bags. These innovations enable trichomes to be extracted more efficiently. Some people even prefer to use an ice-water method, which helps the trichomes to detach under the effect of cold.
- Finally, the trichome-laden pollen is pressed and heated to form a compact block of 3-filtered hash, which will need some time to mature before being ready for consumption.
Differences between filtered 3x resin and others

If there's one essential thing to remember, it's that filtered 3x CBD resin is highly prized by connoisseurs for its taste. But what makes this method so effective?
Different sieve sizes filter different trichomes, influencing their cannabinoid and terpene composition. Sieve size varies according to phenotype and cultivation method. Well-produced 3x filtered hash offers unique flavours and effects that the flower itself would be hard pressed to convey.
On the other hand, it takes a long time to produce, which is why its price is often higher than that of other types. It is prized in legal stores for its quality.
However, a filtered 3x CBD resin containing trichomes of 220 microns or more is considered to be made with the “waste” from extraction, less attractive to consumers.
The important thing to remember is that, depending on the mix of trichomes (of different sizes), the taste and effects of a resin can be totally different. That's why other methods can create just as good a product. Remember, however, that 3x filtered is recognized as the most qualitative and natural method.
Here is a sample of other methods of creating hashish:
- Solvent extraction,
- Water extraction,
- The Rosin Method, etc.
Legal and safety considerations
Triple-filtered CBD resin is legal. However, to be authorized for sale, the THC content of the resin must not exceed 0.3%. This protects consumers from the psychotropic and addictive effects of THC.
Despite this legality, it's particularly important to practice responsible consumption and safe purchasing practices. I advise you to inform yourself about the products you consume, as there are many different types, and some of them can be dangerous.
